GPs want more progress on addiction, dementia

Sadly though, the news was not all good from MO’s 2012 readership survey results, with mental health, dementia and drug and alcohol addiction – all conditions for which the government has been strongly criticised for chronically under-funding – nominated by GPs as areas where they have made the least amount of progress for their patients.

Of the 791 readers who took part in this year’s MO survey, 85%  nominated addiction medicine as the most difficult to make an impact on for patients, followed by dementia (75%), which was just last week was finally made a national health
