IMGs may foot bill for criminal checks
The plan is the latest option from AHPRA as part of a consultation aimed at refining requirements for criminal history checks.
A consultation document states the new option would result in no additional cost to the national registration scheme, while it would reduce delays in processing applications.
However, the risks include placing a cost burden on IMGs and the potential to temporarily register IMGs based on their own false declarations.
