‘Insulted’ GPs demand govt provide e-health info
The $50,000 e-health practice incentive payment (e-PIP) will go to GPs who continue to meet most requirements by February 2013, however if they are not PCEHR compliant by May
they will lose the incentive.
RACGP e-health spokesperson Dr Mike Civil said he was optimistic about e-health but GPs still did not know how it affected them.
“There’s still not a great awareness [about the PCEHR requirements],” he said. “The GP on the street still wants to know… ‘what’s it all about and what’s it going to mean?
