Interpol diet drug alert
INTERPOL has issued a worldwide warning over toxic diet pills that have led to the death of a young British woman and serious illness in a French man.
The international police organisation issued an orange notice, representing “a serious and imminent threat to public safety”, for the drug 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP), being sold as a “fat-burner” or diet pill.
An analysis of a sample received from an Australian drug seizure was provided to Interpol as part of its collaboration with the World Anti-Doping Agency.
