Medicare crackdown: disqualifications, hefty repayments

Currently, another 16 practitioners are facing the threat of investigation by Professional Services Review (PSR) committees for suspect Medicare claims, and another 42 have been given six months to clean up their billing practices. 

The Department of Human Services applies the so-called 80/20 rule to identify GPs who claim for 80 or more services on 20 or more days in a 12-month period.
