Paediatricians in the US checked 1300 website results, finding that 28.1% provided incorrect information, 28.4% provided information irrelevant to infant sleep safety, and only 43.5% gave accurate information.

The researchers, from the University of South Carolina and George Washington University, checked the first 100 search results after punching into Google 13 key phrases designed to reflect the American Academy of Pediatrics’ published advice.
