Pharmacy deal won’t take jobs from doctors: Guild

DOCTOR groups have hit out at a plan to double investment in pharmacist-delivered medical services as part of the $19 billion Sixth Community Pharmacy Agreement.

Health Minister Sussan Ley this week announced in-principle agreement with the Pharmacy Guild, and that $1.2 billion would be invested over five years in “new and existing support programs”.

But pharmacists and the government have hit back, saying government-funded pharmacist-delivered services will now need to be approved by the Medical Services Advisory
