Phone consults hit 23,000 in three months

The network includes the nurse triage service healthdirect Australia, the after-hours GP helpline, and the pregnancy birth and baby helpline.

The report said about 152,000 calls had been received on the network in the first quarter of this year, of which 36,436 had been referred to the GP helpline by triage nurses, who are the first point of contact.
