RACP position on circumcision under attack

In 2010 the RACP published a policy stating that the frequency of diseases modifiable, the level of protection offered and the complication rates did not warrant infant circumcision.

But, in an article published in the college’s own journal last week, the pro-circumcision group’s review of evidence concluded that the policy statement was “misleading, inaccurate and in places incorrect”.

“Selective citation of references and omission of key articles… are consistent with an impression of bias,” the authors wrote.
