Registrars reject ‘flawed’ RDAA pay model

RDAA president Dr Sheilagh Cronin said the proposal would see registrars paid a salary equivalent to their hospital colleagues at the same level.

“We believe a salaried system would benefit both registrars and their practices,” Dr Cronin said.

“The time has come to consider the broader issue of whether commission or percentage-based payment systems are the most appropriate remuneration model to support an effective teaching environment for GP registrars.”
