SA ‘super clinic’ fails to find GPs

THE FAILURE of a multi-million dollar state-funded ‘super clinic’ to attract GPs has highlighted the need for careful consideration of the location of large co-located medical centres.

Applications for GPs wanting to relocate their practices to the centre in the Adelaide suburb of Elizabeth closed last month; however, Medical Observer has been told no submissions were received.

The failure of the state-funded clinic to attract GPs follows reports of staffing difficulties at several federally-funded super clinics nationally.
