Springborg's vow to boost pharmacists' role
In a letter to Queensland Pharmacy Guild head Tim Logan, Mr Springborg confirmed that his government would expand the state’s pharmacy immunisation pilot program to include measles and whooping cough vaccines for adults.
“Please be assured that we will continue this very constructive relationship with the Pharmacy Guild to ensure that pharmacy continues its increasing role in the health of Queenslanders,” he wrote at the weekend.
Mr Springborg also ruled out changing pharmacy ownership and location regulations, despite a federal Competition Policy Review draft report which last year called for them to be scrapped.
