Survey will help define nurse role

The wider role and efficacy of primary healthcare nursing is well established in the UK, the US and New Zealand. 

Evidence from these countries indicates that nurses in primary healthcare and community settings provide effective healthcare for patients and enhance patients’ knowledge and quality of life.

Australian primary healthcare policy settings have been developing rapidly toward increasing the scope of nurses’ roles, including access to MBS provider numbers and certain PBS rights for nurse practitioners, the establishment of nurse-led walk-in clinics and a broader role for general practice
