Four out of five Australian children with cancer under 15 survive more than five years after diagnosis – compared to only 68% in 1986.

About one in 23 Australian adults – nearly 700,000 people – are now cancer ‘survivors’, while in the US the number has quadrupled over the past four decades, and today about one in 20 Americans older than 20 years  has lived through cancer. People with testicular, thyroid and prostate cancer, and melanoma, now have more than 90%
