TGA recalls batch of Pneumovax 23
A SOLE batch of a pneumococcal vaccine has been recalled following reports of severe skin reactions among some of those inoculated.
The TGA received 10 reports of patients who had an adverse reaction after being injected with a dose from a batch of Pneumovax 23, made by Merck Sharp & Dohme (Australia) and distributed by CSL.
The batch - number N3336 - was distributed in NSW and the ACT only, and the recall does not affect other batch numbers or supplies of the vaccine in other states, the TGA says.
