Using nurses makes sense, and frees up GPs

General practices across Australia with well established team approaches to chronic disease screening and management were, for a time, stopped in their tracks.

The ability to claim for the nurse contribution to health assessments has underpinned the business case enabling practices to deliver high quality preventive care at a reasonable cost.
