Warning of liver risk to go on NSAID labels next year

LABELS on all over-the-counter NSAIDs will be amended to include hepatotoxicity as a risk, the TGA has announced.

“Liver damage” will be specified in a new statement from 1 July 2016, that includes “heart attack” and “stroke” as risks that increase with excessive or prolonged use of the medication.
