Women’s abortion rights will not be reduced: Vic govt

In a video statement released on Tuesday, Premier Denis Napthine said although he appreciated that a woman’s right to choose was an “emotive issue”, he said the relevant laws had been “vigorously debated in the community and settled in the parliament in 2008”.

“Let me again be crystal clear about this. I have no intention whatsoever of introducing or supporting legislation that would reduce a woman’s right to choose,” he said.
