How poor notes condemned a GP after an adverse injection reaction
A patient’s adverse reaction to an injection leads to a claim of negligence.
A GP with an interest in physical medicine and pain management was consulted by a 50-year-old woman who complained of recurrent left-sided lower back pain. She was accompanied by her partner and this was the second visit within two weeks for the same problem.
The GP had suggested at her initial visit that if her condition did not improve with conservative treatment, she should return for injections into the affected areas.
