Review: Technology - Acer Aspire 5733Z notebook

Acer’s Aspire 5733Z features a big 15.6-inch screen and quite decent performance that belies its $472 street price. As with most things, you get what you pay for, so while its application speed is good (about 75% of a $600 notebook with an Intel Core i3 chip), you only get 2GB of memory (4GB would be better), and battery life is only around 2.5 hours (better notebooks get closer to four hours) on our testing. There’s also no HDMI output and you only get USB2.0 ports – not the super-fast new USB3.0.
