21 messages to help doctors speak to OA patients

Australian researchers have developed 21 key messages they believe doctors should share with osteoarthritis (OA) patients.

The messages, developed from a Delphi panel involving 51 OA experts and nine patients, cover four areas of concern - OA misconceptions, surgery, drug treatment and non-pharmacological interventions.

Although there are clinical practice guidelines in place, the aim is to help doctors improve their communication with patients, says Professor Kim
