There are five things that clinicians can stop doing to avert a post-antibiotic era, according to infectious disease specialists.

The Australian Society for Infectious Diseases (ASID) is concerned that with the dawn of new antimicrobial-resistant diseases, common infections may once again become untreatable and life-threatening.

Following warnings that we’re now facing superbugs resistant to all available antibiotics, ASID has issued a list of five ‘do-not-do’ recommendations to avoid overtreatment:
