AHPRA starts to audit doctors

AHPRA has begun randomly auditing doctors, checking that their declarations about CPD activities, criminal backgrounds and indemnity insurance are true.

Doctors will know they have been chosen for audit when they receive a letter requesting proof that they have met the Medical Board of Australia's registration standards.

Doctors will have four weeks to provide the proof and, if found to be in breach, can be reported to the Medical Board.
