Anaphylaxis post vax can be delayed

Over a six year period Dr Daryl Cheng from Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital identified 25 cases of proven anaphylaxis using the Brighton collaboration case definition (BCCD).

Nine of the cases resulted from conjugate diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and polio vaccines, while MMR accounted for six. Delayed onset anaphylaxis, where symptoms occurred 30 minutes or more after vaccination, occurred in six cases.
