Ancient fertility booster gets new lease of life


Flushing out the fallopian tubes with an oil-based solution dramatically increases a woman’s chance of pregnancy, Australian and Dutch researchers say.

In the H2Oil study conducted in the Netherlands, almost 40% of women with infertility who underwent the tubal patency procedure with an oil-based contrast, picked up by X-ray, fell pregnant within six months, compared with 29% of women undergoing a similar procedure using water.
