Androgen deficiency

Introduction

ANDROGEN deficiency (AD) is the most common hormonal disorder in males, affecting approximately one in 200 men under the age of 60 years. It is also an under-diagnosed condition, as the symptoms and signs may be subtle or non-specific. Detection and treatment of clinically proven androgen deficiency  should be an important goal for the general practitioner as treatment is highly effective in restoring normal sexual, bone and muscle health; as well as in potentially reducing cardiovascular disease
