Anxiety-sensitivity discourages BP adherence
Patients with high sensitivity to anxiety are twice as likely as less sensitive people to avoid blood pressure medication, according to a US study.
The 113-patient study found 65% of patients with high sensitivity did not take their blood pressure (BP) medications compared with 37% of patients with low anxiety sensitivity.
Patients with high sensitivity are also more likely to report side effects with their BP medications.
