ARA voices concern over OA stem cell therapy

The ARA has added its voice to other medical groups warning against the use of stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis.

In a position statement published on its website this month, the Australian Rheumatology Association said that although there was good evidence of clinical efficacy in some conditions such as burns and haematological malignancies, there was not enough high-quality evidence to be confident of the safety and efficacy of treatment in OA.
