Are hot baths effective for osteoarthritis?

Many people with osteoarthritis soothe their pains with a hot bath, but is there any evidence for the practice?

Turkish researchers report that the answer is yes, regardless of whether they’re taken five days in a row, or a couple of times a week.

Baths followed by a hot mud pack provided positive effects on pain, wellbeing and quality of life for knee osteoarthritis patients for up to three months, the authors found.
