Are there differences in Asperger’s we’re missing?

In the next revision due in 2013, a more overarching diagnosis of ‘autism spectrum disorder’ is proposed, including as a single unity what we know as autism and Asperger’s disorder, meaning Asperger’s disorder will cease to be a separate clinical entity.

Autism and Asperger’s disorder share two core symptoms. Firstly, difficulties with social interaction – e.g. poor or unusual eye contact, difficulty playing with same-aged peers, and social skills often stilted and learned in an inflexible manner, giving the appearance of a socially clumsy child.
