Arthritis: allied health to the rescue?

Upskilling nurse practitioners and physiotherapists in arthritis care will cut ballooning costs and tackle the shortage of rheumatologists, according to an Arthritis Australia report.

The authors say a greater focus on physiotherapist-led clinics could slash out-of-pocket costs for patients and reduce waiting lists for surgical consultations.
