Aspirin: effective treatment for acute migraine

The review of 13 studies involving some 4000 participants found that a dose of aspirin 900mg or 1000mg is more effective than placebo at resolving migraine within two hours and providing sustained relief over 24 hours.

Symptoms of nausea, vomiting, photophobia and phonophobia were reduced with aspirin, with additional metoclopramide significantly reducing nausea and vomiting.
