Asthma in pregnancy disease link

The Danish study of 66,000 mother-child pairs showed that after six years of follow-up, the children of women who had asthma during pregnancy had a 34% increase risk of infectious or parasitic disease, and a 43% increased risk of disease of the nervous and respiratory systems, compared with the children of mothers who didn’t have asthma during pregnancy.

Professor Peter Gibson, director of the Priority Research Centre for Asthma and Respiratory Disease at the Hunter Medical Research Institute said the
