Aussie company wins award for ‘life-saving’ monitor

It’s taken 10 years of meticulous work, but things are starting to fall into place for an Australian medical device company whose products are better known overseas than at home.

It all started when Dr Rob Phillips started the company, called Uscom, to manufacture and market the non-invasive cardiac output monitor he invented based on Doppler ultrasound technology.
