Aussies fail to see obesity link with diabetes
The survey of 5000 adults aged 32—66, commissioned by Medicines Australia as part of its Australian Medicines Industry initiative, found only 2.2% believed weight gain could affect future health. Its report, Facing the Health of Australians, was published last week.
Just 6.8% said diabetes was the condition that most concerned them, while 6.3% said it was the greatest health risk to their generation.
