Aussies out and about at AHA 2014

A number of Australians have made it to Chicago for the 2014 meeting of the American Heart Association (AHA).

Professor Ben Freedman from the University of Sydney presented research that shows atrial fibrillation patients are more likely to stick with new generation anticoagulants (dabigatran, rivaroxaban, apixaban) compared with warfarin, one year from initial prescription.

He says the new drugs’ ease of use and fear
