Australia lags in opportunistic AF screening: report

Australian GPs lag behind their international peers in opportunistic screening for atrial fibrillation (AF), according to a study by a leading business research company.

Australia came 16th among 20 countries, screening only 11% of patients older than 65, analysts from The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) reported in Preventing Stroke: uneven progress, which was sponsored by Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer.
