Australians develop cancer and diabetes guidelines

Endocrinologists have joined forces with oncologists to devise the first Australian guidelines for patients with cancer and diabetes.

Up to 18% of cancer patients have diabetes, but many are undiagnosed, says co-author Dr Richard MacIsaac, director of endocrinology at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.

The aim of the guidelines is to standardise care for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy
