Beer protective against RA: study
A few beers at the pub every evening won’t do your liver much good but if you’re a woman it may just cut your odds of developing rheumatoid arthritis, say the authors of a large US study.
Tracking data from nearly 240,000 women for up to 26 years, the researchers from Harvard Medical School found those who reported consuming 5-10g of alcohol per day were 22% less likely to be diagnosed with RA over the period.
The association was even stronger for seropositive RA cases, where alcohol consumption cut risk by 31%.
However when stratifying the data by alcoholic beverage, the
