Being type A and stressed can bring on stroke

Researchers conducted a case-control study of 150 Spanish adults with a mean age of 54 who had been admitted to a stroke unit as well as 300 randomly selected healthy people of a similar age who lived in the same neighbourhood.

While chronic stress has been associated with cardiovascular disease, the link with stroke has not been well established, according to the authors.
They assessed levels of chronic stress by looking at major life events; symptoms, such as anxiety and depression; general wellbeing; and behaviour patterns indicative of type A personality.
