Benefit of early peanut exposure confirmed

THE benefits of early exposure to peanuts in children at risk of allergy have been confirmed in a follow-up to last year’s landmark LEAP allergy prevention study.

This latest research, known as LEAP-On, shows that the protection from peanut allergy associated with the early introduction of peanuts in at-risk children until they turned five years of age persists after a year of avoiding peanuts.
