The billions of dollars lost to asthma
ASTHMA is costing Australia $28 billion a year in productivity loss, healthcare, disability and premature death, according to a report.
The Deloitte Access Economics report, Hidden Cost of Asthma, shows that in 2015 patients with asthma were absent from work an average 2.1 days more than people without the condition, leading to $1.1 billion in lost wages.
