Bowel disease inflated in patients with respiratory conditions

People with airway diseases have a higher incidence of inflammatory bowel disease than the general population, report Canadian researchers.

The incidence of Crohn's disease is 27% higher in people with asthma and 55% higher in those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) than in the general population, according to their study published in the European Respiratory Journal.
