Bowel drugs get PBS listings

Ten new drugs are being listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme from 1st April, the government has announced.

Among them are monoclonal antibodies panitumumab, for the treatment of colorectal cancer, and infliximab for ulcerative colitis.

Welcoming the addition of panitumumab for colorectal patients with KRAS gene mutations, Bowel Cancer Australia CEO Julien Wiggins said it had taken six years to get the PBS listing.
