CABG trumps PCI in diabetes

Most patients with diabetes are better off having CABG than PCI, argues Professor David Taggart, who presented the Victor Chang Memorial Lecture at CSANZ2015 in Melbourne.

For about 80% of all patients with three-vessel disease “the evidence is very clear that these patients have improved survival, a better chance of not having another heart attack and are far less likely to have more revascularisations if they have CABG rather than PCI”, Prof Taggart told Cardiology
