Call to screen for pregnancy before chemo

Young Australian women diagnosed with cancer are unlikely to be screened for pregnancy before embarking on treatment that could be dangerous or even fatal for an unborn child.

South Australian researchers looked at all patients undergoing chemotherapy at Adelaide’s Flinders Medical Centre in 2014, of whom 78 were considered to be women of childbearing age.
