Cancer categories recast in largest-ever genomic study

US scientists have discovered new evidence they believe could change the way many cancers are classified, diagnosed and treated.

The scientists from several organisations analysed molecular and genetic characteristics of more than 3,500 tumour samples of 12 cancer in what is described as the largest ever cancer genomic study.
