Carb counting by the gram not needed in type 1

There is “no evidence” for the recommendation that people with type 1 diabetes should measure their carbohydrate intake to the nearest gram, say Australian researchers.

An insulin dose for 60g of carbohydrate will maintain postprandial glucose levels for meals with between 50g and 70g in carb content, according to a review from the Hunter Medical Institute at the University of Newcastle.
