CV risk was objectively measured in the prospective cohort study in 663 people from Veterans Affairs medical clinics using exercise treadmill tests.

The study showed the association between PTSD and myocardial ischaemia remained significant after adjusting for sociodemographics, prior CV disease, C-reactive protein, depression and other cardiac risk factors.
