Chemo at the end of life – ‘a wake-up call’

Last week we reported on a JAMA Oncology paper and editorial suggesting chemotherapy given in the last six months of life may do more harm than good. We asked two Australian medical oncologists for their views on whether the results apply here.

“The issue in the paper… is when [chemotherapy] is used close to death,” says Professor Ian Olver, Director of the Sansom Institute for Health Research.
